 1. Explain the relationship between distance learning and online learning.

According to the podcast, the relationship between distance and online learning is the capability to reach and educate students that would not be able to attend a face-to-face classroom instruction either by time constraints or proximity. 

2. Discuss the main difference between distance learning and online learning.

The main difference between distance and online learning is the mode and media in which instruction is delivered, learning occurs, and the response times between interactions among students and instructor. Traditionally, distance learning included delivery modes like postal mail and television but with the development of the World Wide Web and popularity of the personal computers online learning has become a more convenient way to develop your skills and earn a degree.

3. List the three types of interaction proposed by Moore (1989) and explain each type of interaction in your own words.

            1.  Learner-content interaction: student/ learner interacts with course material

            2.  Learner-instructor interaction: student/ learner interacts with instructor

            3.  Learner-learner interaction: students interact with each other

4. Discuss some of the differences between the early days of online learning and today. Then make some predictions about the future of e-learning. Please include at least one good article/website/citation for this item.

Some of the differences of online learning between current and early day instruction are the use of bulletin board and Internet.  With the development of the Internet and the affordability of personal computers, I predict e-learning will one day take the place of traditional classroom instruction.
